Do you include the first touch up?
Yes! A touch up is included for all brow procedures. Touch ups are extremely important to the longevity of the brow because it almost always takes two sessions to make perfect the shape and color. The touch up will be scheduled at the end of your initial appointment around 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure. If you miss that appointment, you will be charged for the 3-6 month touch up.
How long does it last?
Many artists claim that microblading is semi-permanent, however no one can make that claim. touch ups or "Color Boosts" are recommended every 1-3 years. Oily skin types will need more frequent touch ups as well as clients that spend a lot of time in the sun. The sun and elements tend to bleach out the brows. Avoid chemical peels on the brow area, retinol, anti-aging creams, and other harsh treatments to prevent the brows from fading prematurely or discoloring. You are more than welcome to continue the treatments above as long as you avoid the brow area.
How long does it take?
We will spend around 20-30 minutes mapping and designing the ideal look for your brows in order to find a shape you love. Once the shape is confirmed, you will numb for 20 minutes and review the paperwork necessary for the proceedure. This is a good time to take a bathroom break too! After you are numb, we begin the proceedure. All together, the appointment can last for 2 hours. Your touch up 4-6 weeks later will take around an hour.
Does it hurt?
I use two different topical anesthetics that can be applied during the procedure for continued comfort. Numb Master is the topical numbing and then Blue Gel is the secondary numbing used after the first pass of strokes. If my client is feeling any discomfort, it is described as less painful than tweezing or they might even have the urge to sneeze. After the procedure you may feel tender in the tattooed area or feel as if you have mild sunburn. Sometimes, there is swelling and tightness as the brows heal.
Am I a candidate for Microblading?
Normal, clear, and dry type skin is ideal for microblading and shading. If the skin is not healthy, it will not heal well and not take pigment correctly. Skin with acne, rosacea, keloids, scars, and previous tattoos need a consult to determine if you are a candidate. Oily skin types with large pores are rarely a candidate for microblading and are better suited for ombre or shading. Pregnant and nursing individuals need to wait until they are done nursing before having the procedure. Chemotherapy patients need to be off chemo and radiation before having the procedure for at least 6 months. Clients with alopecia are welcome to have the procedure at any stage of their hair loss.
If you have an Auto immune disorder ie Diabeties, Hashimotos, Thyroid issues, you will need to have a Doctors clearance for the procedure before booking your appointment. The last thing I want is for you to be disappointed when you book with me!
Botox: You can still get botox or injections but you need to wait 7-10 days AFTER botox to have a Brow procedure such as Microblading or Shading done. You will also need to wait 7-10 days AFTER your procedure to get botox. This way, the services are not miconstrued and overlapped.
I already have my brows done, can I come to you for a touch up?
Maybe- That will be determined at the time of consutation. A lot of artists do not touch up work from another artist simply because it isn't a "touch up", it would be considered a correction.
In order to do this, we would need to identify past proceedure notes. Ie Ink, method, healing issues, etc.
If I do decide to touch you up detailed photos will be required throughout the process for before and after. If pigment ever turns a strange color over time (pink, red, orange, green) I will could held liable. Also many times there are tweaks that need to be made to the shape so I need to do a full brow mapping on you before we get started.
Corrections sometimes take longer and will be charged the full combination brow fee. No discounts will be given or applied for corrections.
